A Masterful Story. 5.0 out of 5 stars I received this book via LibraryThing's Member Giveaways. This is a heartbreaking, well-written book. It is a dark and depressing story of a young woman of Ghanian descent who can barely survive in low-income London. We meet her as a heroin addict, learning that she is trying to forget a traumatic event. Koboah takes her time letting this story unfold, taking us into the past then to the present to see how each step in Peace's life has led to today. I already felt immense sympathy for Peace, but about halfway through the book, I started crying. Each following page wasn't getting brighter, and it only got worse. I couldn't stop reading while I was so dumbstruck with grief for Peace, so I resolved I wouldn't stop until my heart stopped breaking or the book ended. My tears did stop just before the end of the book, but I'm still melancholy. I will need to read a couple of lighter books before I venture into such darkness again. This is not a criticism of the book at all; it's a testament to how powerful the story is. I will never read this book again..., 5.0 out of 5 stars But I am glad I read it once. I had to give this novel 5 stars even though it wasn't my type of book normally, because it was so well written and so striking in its humanity. It was gritty and sorrowful and there was a point where I literally had to look away from the book thinking I wouldn't be able to read the rest of the sentence and therefor the rest of the book. I managed to pull myself together and finish the book. I am not sure if I would say I liked the book but I did stay up all night to read as much of it as I could before I couldn't stay up any longer. It's a beautiful and tragic story. Reviews of Rising Dark on Finally 4.0 out of 5 stars Finally!!!!!! Book two of this trilogy has arrived! Written from the perspective of Avery recalling some of the events discussed in the first book and moving on to present day, where some questions from the first book are answered and yet many more remain. A.D Kibosh did not disappoint except for the fact that we now anxiously anticipate the conclusion to this awesome trilogy. What a great story 5.0 out of 5 stars I've read both books and I must say that I love them both equally, but for different reasons. I love Luna because even though the odds were against at every turn, she never gave up on her love for Avery. I'm sorry but I do not blame her for her jealous act. However, I do blame her for staying away for so long. I've read many books and I must say that Avery is in my top 10 Alpha male characters. His love for Luna was undeniable even when she didn't deserve it. He always seemed to understand her tragic life as a slave and tolerated so much because of HER. I look forward to Luna's return and the happiness they both deserve after so much anguish and torment. I look forward to the last book of this trilogy and future novels by this author. Thank you for such a great read. ZCynthia I need her to come out with more books 5.0 out of 5 stars This author is amazing. Things are always so well written, constantly moving, full of detail buy not lagging too much and exploding with great imagery that is natural. The author, as I said before, is amazing and so is the story, but I wish we wouldn't have ended in damn near the same place as the first story. I was anxious to see what happened next and the whole story toyed with me and put us where we started just with way more of a back story. Reviews of Dark Genesis on Wow 5.0 out of 5 stars What can I say...only...when is the next book out. I have just finished and went straight to amazon to get the next book only to find it's not out yet....nooooooo . I want the next book now, this book was amazing. I couldn't stop reading it. I would highly recommend this book. Not good at writing reviews, don't want to give any spoilers. You will just have to read. Mindblowingly good 5.0 out of 5 stars An ABSOLUTELY amazing book .. so well written .. the story had me in tears towards the end of the book but you do NOT want to put it down. I am so so glad I read this book and can not wait to read the next one. If I could give this book more stars I wouldn't hesitate.A MUST read !!!! A great read 5.0 out of 5 stars In "Dark Genesis" Luna, a beautiful black woman on a slave plantation, has to not only suffer the horrors of the society she finds herself in but also the attentions of a supernatural being lusting after blood. But despite all this, Luna finds love in a very unexpected way! A. D. Koboah portrays the dynamics within the slave society extremely well in her book - from the slave who is powerless to the slave owner who has complete control over every aspect of life. But this is also a story of love, hope and certainly one I would certainly recommend. Home About me Contact Screenplays Blog You are viewing the text version of this site.
